1. Core sliding system
- Track design:
- Upper rail + lower rail: Most sliding doors adopt a double-track structure, upper rail load-bearing (hanging door body), lower rail guidance (anti-swing). The high-end system may only use the rail, and the ground has no grooves, which is easy to clean.
- Pulley assembly: stainless steel bearing pulleys have built-in nylon or rubber rollers to reduce friction. A single door is usually equipped with 2-4 pulleys, with a load capacity of up to 50-100kg.
- Sliding principle: The pulley rolls in the orbit (non-sliding) and moves smoothly through gravity distribution. The cross-section of the track is "C" or "U" to ensure that the pulley does not derail.
2. The role of material and structure
- Stainless steel frame:
- 304 stainless steel (thickness 1.2-2.0mm) is usually used, which has both strength and corrosion resistance. The frame is formed by bending and welding, and the internal ribs are added to improve the rigidity.
- Glass installation: Tempered glass (usually 6-12mm thick) is fixed by stainless steel pressure bar or silicone pad. Some designs use frameless technology, and the glass is directly embedded in the pulley system.
- Shock-absorbing design: a rubber buffer block is installed at the end of the track to absorb the impact of the door; some systems are equipped with magnetic suction positioning to achieve silent closure.

3. Key accessories coordination
- Guide device: The guide groove or ground positioner of the lower rail controls the swing amplitude of the door leaf (generally limited to ±3°).
- Sealing system: the side brush strip or magnetic sealing strip is used for soundproofing and dustproofing, especially suitable for outdoor or kitchen scenes.
- Anti-detachment mechanism: the pulley has a built-in spring or snap, which is not easy to derail even if it is pushed and pulled quickly (passed the EN standard test).
4. Special type differences
- Folding sliding door: hinge + pulley composite system, each door is linked to fold, and the load-bearing ratio of the hinge needs to be calculated.
- Automatic induction door: add motor drive and infrared sensor to control the opening and closing position through the encoder (accuracy ±2mm).
Key points of maintenance
- Track cleaning: clean the track grooves every month to avoid debris accumulation (vacuum cleaner + alcohol swabs are available).
- Lubrication cycle: use silicon-based lubricant to maintain the pulley every 6 months (to avoid oil adsorption dust).
- Adjustment method: The height of the door can be fine-tuned through the adjustment screw on the pulley (the range is usually ±5mm).
This design combines low-friction transmission and weather resistance of material science in mechanical engineering to achieve a service life of more than 100,000 opening and closing cycles (according to the GB/T 8478-2020 standard).
