Is the hardware rusty? Don't worry, try these methods!
Hardware (such as hinges, handles, screws, etc.) are prone to rust when exposed to a humid environment for a long time, which not only affects the beauty, but also reduces the service life. The following are several common rust removal and rust prevention methods:
1. Mild rust: white vinegar + baking soda
Steps: Mix white vinegar and baking soda into a paste, apply it to the rusty part, leave it still for 10-15 minutes, gently brush it with an old toothbrush, and finally wipe it off with a wet cloth.
Applicable: rust on the surface of door handles, hinges, etc.
2. Stubborn rust: WD-40 rust remover
Steps: Spray WD-40 or other rust remover, wait for 5-10 minutes, wipe it with a wire ball or sandpaper (fine grain), and finally dry it and apply lubricant to prevent rust.
Applicable: Screws, slides and other rusty parts that are difficult to remove.
3. Prevent rust: oil or wax
Method: Regularly apply lubricating oil (such as sewing machine oil) or furniture wax to the surface of the hardware to form a protective film and reduce oxidation.
Tips: Hardware in humid areas such as kitchens and bathrooms are recommended to be maintained every 3-6 months.
